Dita Von Teese's Career
Dita Von Teese was born in the small town of West Branch Michigan and grew up in an average American family. Right from her early years Dita was fascinated with what some describe as the 1940s cinema and classic retro style and that has carried over to this day. Dita was trained as a ballet dancer from the age of five and even danced solo for a local ballet company. When she was 12 her family moved to the West Coast. Her desire to be a glamour model began when she first spotted some lingerie models in her father’s copies of Playboy. At 19 she was dancing in a local strip club and by 1999 she was appearing in Playboy and was also featured in Playboy in 2001 and 2002. Mainstream fashion modeling and movie roles are keeping her busy these days.

Dita Von Teese's Favorites
With her love of old things it should be no wonder that Dita drives vintage and veteran cars. At the moment those cars are a 1939 Chrysler New Yorker as well as a 1968 Jaguar S type and while they are not the usual cars for a glamour model they certainly suit her style. Dita is currently married to Marilyn Manson who first came across her when he joined her website as a member. They were married in Ireland and she and her husband currently reside in Hollywood when they’re not traveling the world. Dita is well known as a collector of vintage hats, art deco era clothing and rare antique books about the history of burlesque. She loves cats and dogs and currently has two Devon Rex cats and two Dachshunds.
